Frames

Frames

Frames are containers in which you can organize objects, such as shapes, text, images, audio, and more, inside a Space. When objects are placed inside a frame, you can move, copy, or delete them together while still being able to edit each item inside the Frame individually.

Why use frames?

Frames help you:

  • Organize related content visually
  • Move or manage multiple objects at once
  • Keep your board clean and easy to navigate
  • Maintain flexibility to edit individual elements

How to add a frame

  1. Click the Frames icon from the toolbar on the left.
  2. Select a frame style from the available options.

After adding a frame, you can resize or reposition it like any other object in the Space.

You can also add a frame by selecting the elements you want to group, right-clicking, and choosing Frame this selection.

Resizing frames

Once a frame has been added to your Space, you can adjust its size to fit your content or organize your layout effectively.

To resize a frame:
  1. Select the frame you want to modify.

  2. Click and drag any edge or corner handle to adjust its size.

  3. To maintain the frame’s proportions, hold the Shift key while dragging.

Resizing a frame does not affect the elements placed inside it. All items within the frame retain their positions as you adjust its boundaries.

Frame types

Vani provides a variety of frame sizes and formats to suit different needs:

  • Standard paper sizes like A4, A5, A6 and A7
  • Landscape and portrait orientations
  • Device-based sizes for screens like mobile, tablet, desktop, TV, and watch
  • Social media formats designed for posts or stories on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X
  • Custom size option where you can define the exact dimensions you need

These predefined frame options help you work faster and stay consistent, especially when creating content for specific formats or devices.
