Use Vani MCP in Claude

Use Vani MCP in Claude

Get started

After setup, enable the Vani connector in a Claude conversation, then ask Claude for help with Vani work.

Example prompts:
  1. Find Vani Spaces about Q4 launch planning and summarize what each Space contains.
  2. Search my team for comments mentioning "pricing review".
  3. Create a mind map for this product idea in a new Zone.
  4. Turn these meeting notes into a kanban board in my Vani Space.
  5. Create a flowchart for our customer onboarding process.
  6. Build a table from this CSV data and add it to this Zone.
  7. Find the Zone named "Product Roadmap" and summarize the main sections.
  8. Add a reply to the comment thread asking for design review.
  9. Check who has access to this Space.
  10. Create an external share link for this Space with viewer permission.
Info
The assistant may ask you to choose a Vani edition, team, Space, Zone, frame, or object if your request does not identify one clearly.

Be specific about where Claude should work.

Good:
In the Product team, find the Space named "Mobile Launch" and create a kanban board from these tasks.
Less clear:
Make a board for these tasks.

Tell the assistant whether it should only read, or whether it can make changes.
  1. Only search and summarize. Do not make changes.
  2. Create a draft mind map in a new Zone.
  3. Update the existing table. Ask before deleting rows.
Info
For important changes, ask for a plan first. Have the assistant preview its plan before it uses any write tools, so you can approve or adjust before content changes in Vani.

Security and privacy when using the connector

  1. Only connect your AI assistant or MCP client to the official Vani MCP server URL for your data center.
  2. Review the permissions shown during sign-in before approving access.
  3. Review tool approval requests before allowing write actions.
  4. Be careful with tools that can delete, move, share, or update content.
  5. Disconnect the connector if you no longer want Claude to access Vani.

Disconnect Vani MCP from Claude

  1. Open Claude.
  2. Go to Customize.
  3. Open Connectors.
  4. Find the Vani connector.
  5. Click Disconnect or Remove.
Info
For organizations on the Team or Business plans, an Owner can also remove the connector from organization connector settings.
