Does Claude get my Vani password?

No, sign-in happens through Vani and Zoho Accounts using OAuth. Claude receives permission to call Vani MCP tools after you approve access, but it does not receive your password.

Can a connected AI assistant see all my Vani data?

No, it can only access Vani data that your Vani account can access, and only while the connector is connected and enabled.

Can a connected AI assistant change or delete Vani content?

Yes, if you approve a tool call that performs a write action and your Vani role allows that action. Review tool requests carefully.

Can admins control who uses Vani MCP?

Yes, Vani permissions, team membership, Space roles, external sharing policy, and Claude organization connector settings can all affect what users can connect to and what actions they can perform.

Can I use Vani MCP from clients other than Claude?

Vani MCP is built on the open Model Context Protocol. Other MCP clients may also connect if they support remote MCP servers and OAuth-based authentication. Setup steps may differ by client.

Why do I need to choose a regional URL?

Vani stores customer data in the selected data center. The MCP server URL must match the Vani data center where your account and workspace are hosted.

Can I use Vani MCP without an API key?

Yes, Vani MCP uses OAuth sign-in. You do not need to create or paste API keys for Claude custom connector setup.
