If Claude cannot access Vani after the connector is set up, make sure the required external AI connection settings are enabled in Vani. See Enable external AI connections in Vani in Set up Vani MCP in Claude article.
Both settings must be enabled to allow MCP connections between Vani and external AI platforms.
Recommended ways to prompt
Be specific about where Claude should work.
For example:
Good:
"In the Product team, find the Space named 'Mobile Launch' and create a Kanban board from these tasks."
Less clear:
"Make a board for these tasks."
Tell Claude whether it should only read information or whether it can make changes.
For example:
- "Only search and summarize. Do not make changes."
- "Create a draft mind map in a new Zone."
- "Update the existing table. Ask before deleting rows."
For important changes, ask Claude for a plan first. You can review the plan before it uses any write tools and approve or adjust it before content is changed in Vani.
Security and privacy when using the connector
- Only connect Claude to the official Vani MCP server URL for your data center.
- Review the permissions shown during sign-in before approving access.
- Review tool approval requests before allowing write actions.
- Be careful when approving actions that can delete, move, share, or update content.
- Disconnect the connector if you no longer want Claude to access Vani.
Disconnect Vani MCP from Claude
- Open Claude.
- Go to Customize.
- Open Connectors.
- Find the Vani connector.
- Click Disconnect or Remove.
For organizations on the Team or Business plans, an Owner can also remove the connector from the organization connector settings.
