Connect Vani MCP to compatible AI agents

You can connect Vani MCP to compatible AI agents so they can access and use available Vani tools from within the agent.

The setup method depends on the AI agent you use. To get started, use the Vani MCP server URL for the data center where your Vani account and data are hosted.

Vani MCP server URLs

Use the URL that matches your Vani data center:

US
Europe
India
Australia
Canada
Saudi Arabia
United Arab Emirates

Choose how to connect Vani

The exact setup steps may vary depending on the AI agent you use. You can usually connect Vani either through the agent's interface or by adding the MCP server manually.

Connect using the AI agent interface

1. Open the MCP, integrations, tools, or connectors settings in your AI agent.
2. Look for an option to add a custom or remote MCP server. Depending on the agent, this may appear as:
  1. Custom MCP
  2. Add MCP Server
  3. Remote MCP
  4. MCP Servers
3. Add Vani using the following details:
  1. Name: Vani
  2. Transport: HTTP or Streamable HTTP
  3. Server URL: https://app.vanihq.{dc}/mcp
4. Save the configuration.
5. Complete authentication if prompted.

Connect using manual HTTP configuration

If your AI agent supports manual MCP configuration, use the configuration format supported by the agent.

For clients that use mcpServers:
{
"mcpServers": {
"vani": {
"type": "streamableHttp",
}
}
}

Some clients may use servers instead:
{
"servers": {
"vani": {
"type": "http",
}
}
}

Some clients may also accept the server URL without an explicit type:
{
"mcpServers": {
"vani": {
}
}
}

NotesNote: Replace {dc} with the appropriate Vani data center and use the configuration format supported by your AI agent.

Verify the connection

After saving the configuration, reload or restart the AI agent if required. Open the agent's MCP or tools section and check whether Vani appears as connected.

You can also try asking:

"What Vani tools are available to you?"

or:

"Use Vani and list the Spaces I can access."

If the connection is successful, the AI agent should discover the available Vani MCP tools.

Troubleshoot the connection

If Vani does not connect, check that:
  1. The AI agent supports remote MCP servers.
  2. You are using the correct Vani MCP server URL for your data center.
  3. The agent supports HTTP or Streamable HTTP transport.
  4. The MCP configuration is enabled.
  5. Authentication has been completed if prompted.
  6. The JSON configuration is valid.

If Vani is connected but the available tools do not appear, refresh or restart the AI agent so it can rediscover the Vani MCP tools.

Compatibility

Vani can connect directly to AI agents that support:
  1. Custom or remote MCP servers.
  2. HTTP or Streamable HTTP transport.
  3. Manual HTTP MCP configuration.

The exact interface, configuration file location, and JSON property names may differ between AI agents. Refer to your AI agent's documentation for its supported MCP configuration format.
